
Mrs. Gessner's Kindergarten class and Miss Sharrow's 1st grade class participated in Halloween activity stations in Gym Class.





Small business owner and professor Dr. Curt Jones spoke to FBLA students about satisfying a need in the market and the importance of hard work. "If someone can create a pet rock for millions, there's an opportunity for everyone."



Mr. Visnosky's and Mrs. Bloom's ELA classes worked together to create a life-sized analysis of a character selected from the novel Where the Red Fern Grows.




Mrs. Stone's third grade class read Halloween books to Mrs. Madden's first grade class. They also wrote Monster Stories together.




Mrs. Becker and Miss Benfer's Intro to Business classes created a Halloween bulletin board entitled "Ghosts of Brands Past" featuring tombstones of defunct companies or brands.


High School Spanish students visited Kindergarten classrooms this morning to teach the children about color words and sugar skulls.



On Friday, October 28th Ms. Habowski, along with her BU co-op, did a lesson on adjectives. After reviewing and learning about adjectives, students came up with a list of adjectives to describe a pumpkin. Students then took turns writing their adjective onto the pumpkin.

Today was the Big Reveal...behind the box in the lobby of the elementary center was...our new Book Vending Machine! Congratulations to the first book "buyers" in each grade level! We are always creative when it comes to educating our Tigers!

Pumpkin #11 took first place in the Family and Consumer Sciences pumpkin carving competition. Pumpkins were voted on by trick-or-treaters during the SCA Trunk or Treat Event.


Mrs. Roulin's Foundations of Art students experimented with color mixing to create these "spooktacular" jack-o-lanterns.



Parenting and Child Development students were tasked with painting a pumpkin based on a children's book. Pumpkins were voted on by trick-or-treaters during the Trunk or Treat event. Group A with their Winnie the Pooh themed pumpkin won first place.


Students in Kindergarten and First Grade have been enjoying some Halloween sensory fun in the Library this week. Mrs. Kane-Gilger had students explore "witches' hair" and "Halloween tree seeds" as a sorting and counting activity. Students got creative while exploring the different textures and having a bit of fun.



Which witches and wizards were casting splendid spells at SCA yesterday? We found these kind conjurers at G.C. Hartman Elementary School.



Mrs. Troutman's Statistics students were testing the variability of surface tension on a penny compared to a quarter.

Brian Knoebel, Knoebel's Amusement Park, came to share with 3rd Grade the original deed for land purchased from William Penn's son. The deed is 249 years old.


Students in Second Grade worked with students from Fifth Grade to make predictions and conduct pumpkin experiments during Pumpkinology Day.





On Monday, we celebrated Halloween Spirit Week with "Scarecrow Day" and today is "Tie-Dye Tuesday." The schedule for the rest of the week is as follows: Wednesday - Wizard or Witch Hat Wednesday, Thursday - Grade Level Color Day, Friday - Festive Friday (Halloween Costume or Fall T-Shirt)
