
Mrs. Madara's first, second, third, and fourth graders enjoyed working with bee bots during their computer classes. They focused on sequencing, estimating, problem solving, and teamwork as they programmed their bee bots to travel through their paths.





Congratulations to our Girls Soccer Team for qualifying for the State Final on Friday, Nov 18, at 10AM at Eagle View MS, Mechanicsburg. There will be no school on Friday to allow students & staff to attend the game. Make-up day will be Feb 17. Best of luck girls! Bring home gold!

Kindergarten enjoyed a presentation this morning from SCA FBLA students for American Enterprise Day.





Elementary had an assembly on Friday to support Lura Good's Walk for Hunger. All grades have been competing in Penny Wars for the past two weeks. After weighing it all, the elementary school is donating 517 pounds of change to Lura, with proceeds going to the Central PA Food Bank. 4th grade is also winning a pizza party from Weis Markets since they donated the most money.


3rd graders Jack McKelvie and Blake Noblit had their fathers, Patrick McKelvie and Dave Noblit, come talk to 3rd grade about Veterans Day on Friday.

7th Grade Students of the Month
Jack Garrigan is the October ELA SOCO STAR of the month. Jack is always courteous and respectful in class. His leadership qualities shine through as he sets a strong example for his peers by consistently following class procedures.
Carter Mensch is the October Math SOCO STAR of the month. Carter is an exemplary student. He is always prepared for class and ready to learn. He has a great work ethic along with a terrific attitude/personality.
Garrett Pesarchick is the October Science SOCO STAR of the month. Garrett comes to science class with a smile on his face every day. His positive attitude and genuine interest in what we learn enhances the classroom experience for everyone.
Ethan Stahl is the October Geography SOCO STAR of the month. Ethan displays all of the qualities of a SOCO STAR. He is an incredibly hard worker and never lets anything stop him from reaching his goals.

6th Grade students celebrated just how sweet reading is with Dunkin Donuts and hot chocolate provided by SMART. To secure their place at this celebration, students had to earn 25 or more AR points by the end of the first marking period.





On Tuesday and Wednesday, Kemilyn Hill, Sarah Eyer, Saira Sodergren, and Maggie Stauder participated in County Choir at Berwick High School. This is the first festival in two years, and it was great to resume this event with so many talented students from surrounding schools.




The following students were chosen by Fifth Grade Staff at Southern Columbia Middle School as October SoCo Stars of the Month. These students were chosen because they have displayed self-control, integrity, and resilience within the classroom. Congratulations to Malania Harmon and Will Visnosky!

Mrs. Roulin's art elective students have prepared a variety of artwork to welcome our special guests on Friday for Veterans Day. Students did their best work as a demonstration of their thanks to those who have served our country.

Mrs. Gessner's Kindergarten class and Miss Sharrow's 1st grade class participated in Halloween activity stations in Gym Class.
