Congratulations to junior shooting guard Ava Novak on being selected as the “Athlete of the Week” by the News-Item for her performances last week against Bishop McCort & Mount Carmel to help lead the Tigers to the school’s first ever PIAA Basketball Championship appearance.

That tonight folks is what sports is all about. It doesn’t matter if it is checkers, a spelling bee, on the gridiron, or an intense basketball game. The competitiveness between the Tigers and Red Tornadoes is something special. Our girls showed the “Heart of a Champion!”

AND THEY ARE OFF TO HERSHEY… The Tigers dethrone the defending State Champs with a 50-46 victory!

At the end of the first half the Tigers lead 24-23 behind 5 points each from Loren Gehret and Colby Bernhard!

We have a packed house and a great game on our hands! At the end of the 1st quarter Southern takes the lead 14-10!

Today’s Girls Varsity Softball scrimmage at East Juniata has been postponed. Practice will be held after school.

Congratulations to our very own Gavin Garcia on winning the prestigious Mr. PA Football Small School Award which goes to the top guy in Class 1A-3A! He joins alumnus Julian Fleming (2x winner) as the second Tiger to be given this honor.

SoCo with a commanding 42-18 halftime lead over Bishop McCort. Ava Novak w 17 points and another 11 points by Alli Griscavage have lead the way for the Tigers.

The SCA Girls Varsity Basketball Team will play Bishop McCort of District 6 Tuesday Night at Bald Eagle HS in Bellefonte at 6:30 PM. This game will be a PIAA Class AA Quarterfinal game. The Lady Tigers cruised to the quarterfinals by defeating Tri Valley 45 to 14 this past Friday Night. Go Lady Tigers!
