
Each year, student art is selected and added to the CSIU Art Gallery's permanent exhibit in Montandon. Student artists from the region were recognized at a reception last week. Congratulations to Senior Studio students Sophia Boucher and Emma Wieand on this achievement!

We are proud to announce that Callie Maclay has enlisted with the Navy, embarking on a journey of honor, courage and commitment.


Current and prospective FBLA students visited the Roaring Creek Machine Co., co-founded by Joshua Maciejewski and Dan Kreisher and guided by CEO Josh Lister. Roaring Creek creates custom products through methods such as 3D printing and CNC technology. Students were able to see the machinery and see an organizational design plan and budget. The students were accompanied by FBLA Advisor Mrs. Long and business teacher Mrs. Becker.





Yesterday, students in the Music Department got to see the famous Broadway production WICKED. For many, it was their first Broadway show! Students also enjoyed exploring Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Museums, and Ellen's Stardust Diner!

Gavin Krebs, Isaac Carter, Landon Ferrara, and Milind Kapadiya received their official plaque from Bloomsburg University's Math Contest held on February 27, 2024, where they placed fourth in the Brainteasers competition.


High School students went on a Business Law Field Trip to the Philadelphia Constitution Center last Wednesday. The trip was sponsored by the Northumberland County Bar Association. Students got to see the Constitution Center, The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Carpenters' Hall, and the Revolutionary War Museum, including George Washington’s Tent!




Art Therapy was one of the many stations which students (and administration!) participated in during Friday's SAVE Walk. Weather conditions moved the events indoors, but that did not dampen attendees' enjoyment of the activities. 🧑🎨🎨👩🎨

This week HS Student Council honored Teacher Appreciation Week, along with School Counselors Week, National Social Work Week, Paraprofessional Appreciation Day, Administrative Professionals Day, School Principals Day, School Nurses Day, Speech Pathologist Day, National IT Professionals Day... And many, many more!! Student Council Officers delivered Bloomin’ Bagels Sandwiches to our staff to show their appreciation for all that they do! 🥯

Faculty at the high school bid farewell and good luck to some of tomorrow's best and brightest educators! Ellie Rowe, who spent time with Mrs. Troutman and Miss Stine, and Lily Savoy and Kimberly Speece, who worked with Mrs. Becker and Mr. Williams, will be graduating from Commonwealth University on Saturday. Southern Columbia wants to thank these ladies for their time and efforts with our students and wishes these future teachers all the best in their career endeavors.

High School Envirothon students recently attended the Susquehanna Valley Envirothon at Shikellamy State Park. Students competed against teams from five surrounding counties in the following categories: wildlife, forestry, soils and land use, and aquatic ecology.


Don't forget: Our fantastic May display of musical and artistic talent begins tonight. Doors open at 6 pm for the Catawissa Military Band Concert and the SCA Art Show. Every student who is enrolled in a High School Art elective will have at least one piece on display. 🎺🎨

A Pre-Prom Mock DUI presentation was conducted on campus for all 11th and 12th Grade students yesterday. This presentation included a response from local fire, police, EMS and Life Flight. The demonstration's intention was to raise awareness for our students as well as assist local first responders in training.






The 2024 Senior and Junior Prom Courts were recently named. The King, Queen, Prince, and Princess will be crowned at the conclusion of Promenade. Promenade will be held on Saturday, May 4th at 4:30 in the Charles T. Nesbitt gymnasium.

The National Honor Society recently partnered with the Columbia County Victim Witness Program to collect items for individuals who visit their office. NHS members collected an assortment of over 75 items including puzzle books, coloring books, crayons, and children's book.
