9th Grade students attended Ag Day at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds this morning. This event was sponsored by the Columbia County Farm Bureau. Students met with area businesses and providers who informed students about their agriculture-related careers. Students were also able to ask questions in small group settings, and they enjoyed collecting goodies from some of the stands. 🐄🚜🧑‍🌾

We are all in this together! Tuesday, March 19, was “Ellymay Day” for the Southern Columbia Area School District. Students and staff were encouraged to show their support for Ellymay Yost as she showcases her bravery and courage during the duration of the next couple months. Students and staff wore purple and blue attire, and some even dyed their hair to show their love for Ellymay. There was also a dress down day for staff and bracelets sold, where all the proceeds went to Ellymay’s family. We wish Ellymay the best of luck and give her all our TIGER LOVE! 🖤🐯💛🖤🐯💛 Contributor: MolliLyn Petro, Journalism Staff Member

❄️Good-bye Winter, Hello Spring!🌻 Let's Recycle! Art students in Mrs. Brown's Fifth Grade class created snowmen using scraps of wood from the Tech Ed department. Snowmen were embellished with their choice of donated fabric scraps, buttons, and polymer clay for the nose. Students topped off their snowmen with a hat, using old socks that they brought from home!

This week in Ms. Guffey’s 8th Grade ELA classes, students are continuing their pursuit of mastering the English language. They have been reading several poems by famous poets including Maya Angelou, and they are transitioning into working on grammar. The class will cover the differences between complex, compound, and compound-complex sentences. Students will soon be doing more writing, including a comparison essay between poems they have previously read and analyzed. These students have been giving it their all! By working with CommonLit, the students get a well-rounded lesson every day while working on grammar, writing, and analysis. This will give them the necessary practice for the PSSA’s.
