This week the G. C. Hartman Elementary school has been collecting boxes of cereal for the cereal drive. These boxes will go to both the Catawissa and Elysburg food pantries. The goal for this year is to donate as many or more as last year. The drive ends April 12th and already over 100 boxes have been collected.

Miss Winter, who is currently student teaching in Ms. Habowski's 2nd-grade class, is doing a math unit on geometry. She did an interactive lesson where the students used clay to build 3-dimensional shapes. She then used the shapes built by the students to teach them about faces and vertices of each 3-D shape.
Learning to read in Kindergarten and LOVING it!!!
Dear Parents,
Please review the attached images for information and guidelines for our upcoming PSSA Testing.
We are continuing to collect cereal donations through Tuesday, April 12th and will be setting up the domino run on Wednesday the 13th. After that we will be packing up the cereal to deliver to the food cupboards and need boxes. Boxes that can hold 10 or more boxes of cereal would be great! Bring them to the elementary office or the old music room next to the gym.
Thanks so much!
Mrs. Spotts' Third Grade class spent the day learning perimeter and area, with a twist. Students used Cheez Its to create perimeter and area models and they got to enjoy them as a snack after learning!

Agriculture Awareness Day will take place on Saturday, April 2, at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. Please see the flyer for additional details.
3rd grade students in Mrs. Hower’s classroom worked on their pen pal letters. These students received letters from pen pals in Alabama. Information the students included in these letters were as follows: their favorite movie, song, animal, and school subject. This is a year long project and they will continue to keep in touch with their pen pals.
We will be having a cereal drive from today through April 12th. We are hoping to beat last year's number of 850 boxes of cereal so we can create an even longer domino run.
Please help us to help families in our district. All donations will be sent to the Elysburg and Catawissa food banks. Let's collect some cereal and make some memories!!
All donations can be sent into the Elementary building.
Mr. and Mrs. Porter visited Mrs. Rhodes' 2nd grade classroom to read a story about soybeans and talk to students about the rewarding life of farming. The books were sponsored by PA Farm Bureau.
Mrs. Sharrow's Kindergarten class spent some time learning about Ireland on St. Patrick's Day.
What a lucky sight! Mrs. Pfirman’s third grade class celebrated the holiday by wearing green. Students wrote a story about what they would do if they caught a leprechaun.
