FBLA hosted a Shark Tank activity for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade gifted students taught by Mrs. Singley. Students presented their unique inventions, such as sheets that make themselves and adjustable backpacks. The FBLA "Tiger Sharks" then asked follow-up questions. All participants received a certificate and a gift bag. The winners of each grade also received a Walmart gift card. The winner for the 3rd grade students was Ruby Serafini with her invention of a drainer spoon for cereal to drain unwanted milk. Emma Maciejewski won for the 4th grade students with her idea of "Sweet Pea," which performs gardening work like seeding and watering with a Roomba-like design. Great job, participants and judges!

It's time to meet some more of our student teachers! Zachary Schultz is inspiring 11th graders alongside Mr. Lindenmuth, while Gavin Garlinger is bringing joy to 2nd graders with Ms. Merook. We're proud to have such dedicated individuals shaping the future! Learn more about them below.πβ¨

Ms. Merook's 2nd Grade class recently completed an exciting geometry unit, where students used geo boards to create various 3D shapes. The hands-on experience not only helped them understand geometric concepts better but also sparked their creativity and interest in mathematics.

Coming back for its second appearance, it is the Teachers vs. Students Basketball Game sponsored by SAVE! On Friday, March 14th, there will be games played at 6:00 PM for JV and 7:30 PM for Varsity. After last yearβs student victory in the Varsity game and the teachers' win in the JV game, both sides want to send a message in their Friday showdowns. When asked about the outcome of this yearβs game, Varsity player Parker Pesarchick said, βWeβre throwing lobs all day, dunks only.β In response to Pesarchick's comment, teacher Ms. Stine said, βParker thinks he can dunk, but I donβt think we can get a sheet of paper between him and the ground.β Then, Pesarchickβs teammate Braysen Leslie commented, βParker may not be able to dunk, but everyone will see the score when the time comes.β On March 14th, the ultimate rivalry between student and teacher will commence. Donβt miss out on the game of the century! π

At G.C. Hartman Elementary, Read Across America Week is one of the most exciting and anticipated events of the school year. Each March, the school celebrates reading with a week full of activities designed to inspire students and foster a love for books. The event aligns with Dr. Seuss's birthday, as itβs held during the first week of March. Local community members and high school students volunteer to read stories to the students, allowing them to experience the joy of hearing stories from different voices. It's a week that strengthens the bond between students, teachers, and the community, all while celebrating the magical world of books!
