The purpose of Southern Columbia Area School District’s Food Service Program is to prepare and serve nutritious and appealing meals that meet the dietary guidelines to students, staff, and community. Each year the Food Service team provides over 200,000 breakfast and lunch meals to students in the Elementary Center and Middle/High School. The District participates in the National School Lunch Program and strives to provide quality food at reasonable prices.
GRAB-n-GO BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FOR VIRTUAL STUDENTS
Southern Columbia Area School District is now offering no-cost breakfast and lunch to all students in grades K-12 enrolled in District programs. Grab-n-Go Meals will be available for students who are learning virtually from home beginning Wednesday, September 9th.
Beginning the week of September 14th, pick-up days will be Monday and Wednesday weekly. Monday’s pick-up will be for Monday and Tuesday meals, and pick-up on Wednesday will for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday meals. The pick up time will be 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the pick-up location will be outside the main Middle School entrance.
Student name and ID number will be required for pick up. Daily meals will include a Breakfast and Lunch option. Breakfast will include a whole grain breakfast item, juice and milk. Lunch will include an entree, fruit, vegetable and milk.
All virtual Breakfast and Lunch counts must be placed by 1:00 p.m. Friday for the following week pick-up. Teachers will continue to take a daily lunch count for students who are attending in-person learning according to the Hybrid split schedule, so you do not need to order lunches for your student(s) on those days. The Virtual Breakfast and Lunch Count is only required for days that your child will be learning from home, and you would like to pick up meals for those days.
Please use the following form to submit your child’s weekly Breakfast and Lunch counts (Must be submitted by 1:00 p.m. Friday for the following week’s pick-up): Virtual Breakfast and Lunch Count Form
Please complete and submit one form for each student per week if you wish to order lunches for them for days they will be learning from home. For example: if you have three students, please complete the form three times and click SUBMIT for each student.
No congregating at the pick-up location is permitted. Please maintain 6’ Social Distancing while waiting. Masks must be worn. If you have any questions regarding the Grab-n-Go lunches or the Lunch Count Form, please contact Kathy Holleran at email@example.com.
