A Tri-County representative for the FNRA, the Non-political, totally non-profit arm of the NRA Foundation, who serves Columbia, Montour, Northumberland and lower Luzerne Counties is offering the following opportunity to students who would like to learn more about shooting sports.

They are currently trying to promote and canvass students (young men and women alike) for the trap team in Columbia County, specifically in Middle and High School.

If any student is interested in seeing how the trap team functions, Williams Valley High School Shooting Team will be in Elysburg this Saturday June 12th.  They are manning a ‘Friends of the NRA’ information table at the High School Championship at Elysburg on June 12th. Shooting usually begins between 9-10 am. So far at least 3 members of the team have been offered college scholarships for trap shooting this year. The coaching staff is exemplary. They would love to see students from Southern Columbia participate since the Tigers have a rich history of competitive athletes.

They are trying to get some ‘GOOD’ gun news out there as well and let the public see what the FNRA is all about.

They are also able to offer students/1st time shooters training in other disciplines such as small-bore 22lr position shooting and archery at Keystone.

The current 7 High schools represented are Williams Valley, Upper dauphin, Line Mountain, Pine Grove, Minersville, Tri Valley and North Schuylkill
