As many of you are aware the High School Student Council typically holds a “Covers for Kids” Drive during the holiday season. Unfortunately, with COVID, the hospital is unable to accept any fabric items. We still wanted to do something this year to provide some holiday cheer for those in need.
This year we will be holding a BOOK DRIVE to benefit the patients of the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. We will be collecting any kind of books but they must be NEW due to federal regulations. The books that are in highest needs are ones for infants (possibly with lights and music) and books for teenagers. To best protect the young patients, you are asked to tie your donation in a plastic bag and keep it away from dust and pets.
Donations can be dropped off in Jen Stine’s classroom or in the High School Office beginning Tuesday. The drive will end on Wednesday, December 16th with the donated books being delivered on December 18th. This gives High School Student Council enough time to sort and organize the donations. Our Student Council is hopeful you can support our cause and help brighten the holiday for the Children’s Hospital patients and their families! Click HERE for the flyer.
If you choose to donate an item, thank you for your donation in advance! If you have Facebook, please share the post that will be on the Southern Columbia Student Council Page.
