Start with Hello Week!

September 23-27, 2019 is being observed at Southern Columbia Area and schools across the nation as Start With Hello Week. Start With Hello Week seeks to draw attention to the growing epidemic of social isolation and empowers young people to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their school, youth organization and community.

Students in the News: Homecoming Queen!

Congratulations are extended to Victoria Brown, Class of 2020, who was selected by the student body as the 2019 Homecoming Queen!  Victoria is the daughter of John and Renee Brown and is a member of the National Honor Society and  Student Council.

Students in the News: College Recruit

Congratulations are extended to Preston Zachman, Class of 2020, who has accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Wisconsin. Preston has orally committed to play football for the Badgers, becoming the fourth member of the 2019 Tiger Football Team (joining Julian Fleming, Cal Haladay and Gaige Garcia) to commit to a Big Ten and Power 5 program.

    Start with Hello Week

    Mon, 09/23/2019 - Fri, 09/27/2019 This week, Southern Columbia Area will join with thousands of schools and youth organizations across the United States to participate in Start With Hello Week, a national campaign to teach students, grades K–12, the skills they need to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness, and encourage them to reach out to and include those who may be dealing with chronic social isolation.

    Veterans Day Invitation

    Mon, 09/23/2019 Alumni and residents of the Southern Columbia Area School District who are veterans or currently serving in the military are invited to join SCA's students and staff in the High School's annual Veterans Day Assembly to be held Monday, November 11th in the High School auditorium. Our guests are invited to a luncheon at 12 noon to be followed by the assembly beginning at 1:15 p.m. If you plan on attending please complete the form below or call the High School Office at (570) 356-3450.

    Say Hey Day!

    Wed, 09/25/2019 G.C. Hartman students will celebrate Start with Hello Week with their own, unique day- Say Hey Day!  Students will learn to introduce themselves to others and start a conversation.  The premise of the Start with Hello initiative is if you see someone who is alone, you can walk up to that individual and "Say Hello".
