Relay Team Earns State Medal

Congratulations to the Tigers 400 meter relay team on their medal-winning performance at the 2017 PIAA Track and Field Championships. The team placed 5th in the AA 4 x 1 competition.

SCA Still in Running for State Track Medals!

Good luck to Southern Columbia's student-athletes who have qualified for day two of the PIAA 2A Track Championships! Competing for medals today are Ethan Knoebel in the 1600 meter run, Julian Fleming in the 200 meter dash, and the 400 meter relay team of Noah Blusius, Joe Evans, Julian Fleming, and Gage Garcia.

Special Board Meeting followed by Committee Meetings

The Southern Columbia Area School District Board of Directors will hold a special meeting for general purposes beginning at 6:00 PM in the High School Library. This meeting will be followed by the regularly-scheduled Facilities and Finance Committee meetings. The public is welcome to attend.

Student Achievement Celebrated at Awards Ceremony

Southern Columbia Area High School recently held its Annual Awards Program to recognize outstanding student achievement in a number of fields, including academics, civic engagement, and athletics. Over 80 awards were presented to the deserving students, with most reserved for members of the Class of 2017.

Students Bring History to Life!

Students enrolled in Ms. Tricia Hoffman's 9th Grade American History course and Mr. Ryan Mensch's English 9 course, recently engaged in a unique cross-curricular project that saw major events from early American History come to life in the halls and classrooms of SCA!

Pickleball Tourney Signals the Close of Another School Year is Near!

Southern Columbia's annual Pickleball Tournament seems to grow in popularity, year after year, with the 2017 edition attracting over 200 participants! Sponsored by the District's Physical Education Department, the tournament has become one of the staple events at SCA which signals the close of yet another school year! TiC Members Show Appreciation for SCA Staff!

Tigers in the Community (TiC) recently purchased and distributed donuts to Southern Columbia's staff, including the bus drivers and mechanics of Fullington Bus, as a token of appreciation for their dedicated service to SCA's students. The student-run club has undertaken and carried  out a variety of community projects since their inception in February, generating much good will throughout the Southern Columbia community.

Sign Ups for Sports Physicals Continue

Free sports physicals will be offered Tuesday, June 6th from 3:00 until 7:00 PM in the High School training room for any SCA student entering grades 7 through 12 and planning to participate in athletics in the 2017-2018 school year.  Physicals are by appointment only.  Parents can schedule an appointment online through the District's Athletics webpage or by clicking the following link:
