High School Gymnasium to be named after beloved Educator and Coach

On Tuesday, February 4th, prior to the start of the Boys Varsity Basketball game against Selinsgrove Area High School, highly-respected and beloved retired educator and coach, Charles T. Nesbitt, will be feted in a ceremony announcing the naming of the new gymnasium in his honor. The ceremony is slated to begin at 7:20 PM. Family, friends, former players and colleagues of Mr.

Board of Education News

Congratulations are extended to Thomas Reich who was recently appointed to fill the vacant Region I (Ralpho Township) seat on the Southern Columbia Area Board of Education.   With Mr. Reich's appointment, SCA's Board now consists of eight members. One Region II seat is still available. Drug Awareness Town Hall Meeting

Southern Columbia Area will host a Town Hall Meeting on a subject, which unfortunately, is proving to be a growing threat to families throughout Columbia County and beyond- illegal drug use.  Information regarding an increasing gang presence in the region will also be presented. The program will be moderated by Columbia County Commissioner David Kovach and State Representative Kurt Masser. It will include presentations and discussions from speakers with first-hand knowledge of these threats including law enforcement personnel and County judges.

Due to the forecasted snow, the HS Forensics event has been cancelled.

Competitive Spirit Championships

Good luck is extended to SCA's Competitive Spirit team which has earned a berth in the 2nd Annual PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships! The competition will take place at the GIANT Center in Hershey on Friday, January 24th and Saturday, January 25th.  Spectators will be admitted beginning at 8:00 AM on both days of competition.
