PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships Continue

Good luck to Jacob Ryan who will be competing in the PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships!  Jacob will be competing  in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay and the 200 Yard Backstroke. The State Championship competition will be held at the Kinney Natatorium on the campus of Bucknell University in Lewisburg.

Middle School Students Excel in STEM Challenge

Southern Columbia Area Middle School captured the top two prizes in the Grades 6-8 Division of the inaugural Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit K'Nex STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Design Challenges.

Into the Woods Tickets on Sale Today

Tickets can be purchased at the High School outside of the auditorium today from 9:00 AM until 12 noon.  Next week, tickets will be on sale Monday-Thursday, from 4:00-8:00 PM.  Please contact Lori Jones at (570) 594-7700 or LEJones12@aol.com with any questions. Unfortunately we are not able to hold tickets at the door.

Nominations for Distinguished Alumnus Will Close March 21st

The Southern Columbia Area School District will be accepting nominations for the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus Award until March 21, 2014. The Distinguished Alumnus should be someone who has gone on to achieve success in their field of endeavor and/or has had a positive influence on the students and community of the Southern Columbia Area. Graduates of Southern Columbia Area High School or any high school that formed the Southern Columbia Area School District are eligible to be nominated.

Tickets for HS Musical Now on Sale!

The High School Music Department and Encore have announced that tickets for this year's musical, Into the Woods, are now on sale. Performance dates are Friday, March 21st at 7:00 PM, Saturday , March 22nd at 7:00 PM and Sunday, March 23rd at 2:00 PM.

Wrestlers Win Silver Medals at State Tournament

Congratulations are extended to Kent Lane (junior, 138), Todd Lane (freshman, 120) and Blake Marks (sophomore, 152) who all won silver medals at the 2013-2014 PIAA Class AA State Wrestling Championship.  The students and their coaches represented Southern Columbia Area extremely well and are to be commended for their outstanding accomplishment!  Wrestling great Dan Gable once stated, “More enduring than any other sport, wrestling teaches self-control and pride.
