MS Students Excel at State Computer Fair

Congratulations are extended to the Graphic Design team of  (pictured left to right)  Morgan Cole, Hanna Davis, and Carly Britch for capturing Second Place in the 2015 Pennsylvania Middle School Computer Fair held at Dickinson College on May 20th.

Students to Compete in PIAA Track and Field Championships!

Good luck and best wishes are extended to Luke Rarig, Trent Donlan, Jacob Trathen, Matt Jeremiah, and Billy Marzeski who will be competing in the 2015 PIAA Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at Shippensburg University's Seth Grove Stadium. Luke Rarig will be competing as the number one seed in the state in the AA Boys 110 Meter Hurdles and as the number two seed in the AA Boys 300 Meter Hurdles.

Sports Physicals

Free sports physicals for students entering grades 7 through 12 for the 2015-2016, school year, interested in playing interscholastic sports, will be offered on Thursday, June 18th, from 2:45 PM until 8:00 PM in the High School training room. Physicals are by appointment only.  Parents can schedule an appointment by clicking on the Sports Physicals link on the Athletics webpage.   Appointments can also be scheduled by calling Athletic Trainer Mrs.

Public is Invited to FBLA's First Annual Yard Sale and Craft Show

The public is invited to attend the First Annual Southern Columbia FBLA Spring Fling to be held in the High School parking lot, Sunday, May 24th from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The event will feature yard sales, craft vendors, food, music, face painting, games, and a dunk tank! Inquiries for yard sale space or a craft booth can be made to FBLA advisors Mrs.

Buddy Bench Initiative Adopted by G.C. Hartman Elementary School

With help from a generous community partner, G.C. Hartman Elementary has joined many schools across the country in bringing a Buddy Bench to their school. Among the goals of the Buddy Bench initiative is to help eliminate loneliness and foster friendships on the playground.

Safe Schools News

Earlier today, the District, in cooperation with the Locust Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police, conducted a drug search of the Middle School and High School using specially-trained dogs who are able to sniff out drugs. The dogs used are highly specialized and certified for this purpose.

Student-Designed Tiger Logo Enjoys Widespread Appeal

Over the past year, you may have noticed a new Tiger logo appearing on SCA publications, stationery, and Tiger wear. The new Tiger head logo, the creation of aspiring artist, Madison Yocum, Class of 2015, has proven to be very popular and is now generally recognized as the District's "official" logo.
