On Tuesday, February 4th, prior to the start of the Boys Varsity Basketball game against Selinsgrove Area High School, highly-respected and beloved retired educator and coach, Charles T. Congratulations are extended to Thomas Reich who was recently appointed to fill the vacant Region I (Ralpho Township) seat on the Southern Columbia Area Board of Education.   With Mr. Reich's appointment, SCA's Board now consists of eight members. One Region II seat is still available. Southern Students to be Featured on WVIA-TV

Emily Vitkauskas, Class of 2014 and Tony Rodriguez, Class of 2015 will be featured on WVIA-TV's Artist of the Week program during the Week of January 26-February 1st. The show is designed to call attention to high school students who have excelled in the study of the arts. You can view the talented students and their work by tuning in to WVIA-TV next week or by visiting the Artist of the Week website.

Technology Education and Weight Equipment up for Bid

SOUTHERN COLUMBIA AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT is accepting sealed bids for the sale/disposal of equipment. Photos and additional information are available on the Business Office webpage under the Items for Bid Specs and Disposals link.   Sealed bids should be clearly marked “Equipment SaleItem # & Name."   All sealed bids must be received by 1:00 p.m. February 3, 2014.  No phone or e-mail bids accepted.

Columbia-Montour Area Vocational-Technical School Tour

Students in grade 8 will visit the CMAVTS on Thursday, January 23 from 9:00-11:00 am.   While at CMAVTS, students will have the opportunity to visit each of the vocational-technical  programs and speak with instructors and students.  This is a great opportunity for students to experience all that a vocational education has to offer.

SCAHS Theatre Arts Ensemble to Present Spoon River Anthology January 17-19

This coming weekend, the Southern Columbia Area High School Theatre Arts Ensemble will present Spoon River Anthology. According to Theatre Arts Ensemble Director Louise Baran, the play is based on a poetry collection of Edgar Lee Masters and built around the members of the mythical community of Spoon River.

Applications for BU's STEM Program Now Being Accepted

Southern Columbia Area High School students who will be Juniors during the 2014-2015, school year will have an opportunity to participate in Bloomsburg University’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Magnet Program.
