Three Students Advance to FBLA Nationals!

Southern Columbia was well-represented at FBLA's State Leadership Conference with twenty-nine students competing in various events that tested each student's business leadership skills. Among Southern's contingent, four students- Reese Houseknecht, Chase Urban, Chloe Wegrzynowicz and Jared Ebersole- were exceptionally strong, with each finishing as a top ten state finalist.

Calendar Revised to Add Safe Schools Training

The March 21st snow storm which cancelled school will be made up through an Act 80 Day on June 8th, meaning the students' last day of school will remain at Thursday, June 7th. An Act 80 Day allows schools to count hours, as opposed to days, in order to determine if they are meeting State requirements for instructional time.

Student in the News: Julian Fleming

Sophomore Julian Fleming's athletic prowess has attracted national attention with as many as fourteen (and counting) Division I schools, actively vying for his services. Recently Julian was interviewed by PennLive about racial relations. The young student addressed this volatile topic with impressive poise and maturity.

Middle School Readies to SLAY the PSSAs

Middle School students and staff will engage in a series of weeklong activities designed to motivate students for the upcoming PSSA ELA, Math and Science tests, and in turn, ease any anxiety students may feel in anticipation of taking these assessments.
