K-12 Art Show Announced!

Art teachers Mrs. Tia Brown and Mrs. Casie Baker have announced the annual districtwide Art Show will be held April 4th. Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students will display their artwork in the G.C. Hartman Elementary Center's cafeteria and Large Group Area from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Encore to Provide a Weekend of High-Flying Entertainment!

For the past ten years, Encore's talented cast and crew have provided the Southern Columbia community with high-energy, thoroughly-entertaining performances. This year's Encore team has done it again, producing a "high-flying" musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, perhaps "the most fantasmagorical stage musical in the history of everything!"

Student to Perform in All-State Festival

Congratulations to junior Seth Barrett for placing first at the PMEA Central Region Orchestra Festival held at Hershey High School, March 9th through March 11th. Based on his outstanding performance, Seth has earned a seat at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Assocation's All-State Festival to be held at Erie Area on April 19-22nd.

Jaret Lane Crowned State Champion!

Congratulations are extended to junior Jaret Lane who capped an undefeated season by capturing the PIAA 2A State Championship at 113 pounds! Jaret's victory in the State Championship match was his 48th this season.

Business Students Headed to Husky Dog Pound!

On March 8th, SCA High School's Marketing and Introduction to Business students competed in Bloomsburg University's Entrepreneurship Competition hosted by the University. Emerging as winners of the high school division were Tristan HeimCole Potter, and Eli Yemzow, students in Mrs.

Community Helps G.C. Hartman Students Celebrate Reading!

During the week of February 27th-March 3rd, representatives from law enforcement, television news, business, local, county and state government, and a variety of other fields, took time out of their busy schedules to visit with G.C. Hartman Elementary students as part of a national effort to promote literacy among all children.

The Board of Education recently approved a series of projects designed to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and safety throughout the District's schools and other facilities.

Rehearsals of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in Full Gear!

The cast and crew of Encore have been putting in long hours memorizing lines, practicing dance steps, and fine-tuning comic pratfalls in preparation of this year's musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The fast-moving show will debut on Friday, March 17th with a 7:00 PM performance.
