Schools Team Up to Create Monster of a Lesson!

District IV Champs!

The Lady Tigers captured the 2018 District IV A Soccer Championship with a 3-2 victory over previously unbeaten East Juniata High School. The District IV Champs will now enter State Playoff action on Tuesday with a First Round match against District XI Champion Moravian Academy.

District Receives PCCD Safety Grant

The School Safety and Security Committee established within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) by Act 44 of 2018 recently approved $12.4 million in school safety grants to 496 school districts throughout the Commonwealth.

Lessons Connect Students and Scientists

Book Fair Opens November 12th

Southern Columbia's Annual Book Fair for elementary and middle school students will be held November 12th through November 20th. The Fair will be open in the G.C. Hartman Elementary School Library during regular school hours and throughout the Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for November 19-20.

SCA Awarded Safe Schools Grant

Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera recently announced that $1.04 million has been awarded to 60 public school entities to establish and implement programs to prevent and reduce violent incidents. Applicants were eligible to receive up to $20,000 to fund programs. Southern Columbia was one of awardees, receiving the maximum amount.

Foundation Announces PayPal Donation Option

A secure way to donate electronically has been announced by the Southern Columbia Community Foundation. Effective immediately, donors can make monetary contributions to the Foundation through its newly-created PayPal account.
