Congratulations to Mr. Jim Becker and Mr. Dave Trathen who were selected by the Board of Education to serve as Superintendent and Solicitor, respectively. Mr. Becker will continue to serve as High School Principal until assuming duties as Superintendent on February 4, 2020.  Mr. Trathen assumed duties as Solicitor on August 6th upon the retirement of Richard J. Roberts, Jr.  I extend congratulations to both Mr. Becker and Mr. Trathen and wish them much success in their new roles. Both men are alumni of Southern Columbia as well as seasoned veterans in their fields. They bring valuable experiences that will undoubtedly serve the Southern Columbia Area School District well! I also wish to thank retired Solicitor Rich Roberts for his dedicated service to the District. Mr. Roberts served as School Solicitor for 41 years and provided expert legal counsel to scores of administrators and board members over these past four decades.
