For the past ten years, Encore's talented cast and crew have provided the Southern Columbia community with high-energy, thoroughly-entertaining performances. This year's Encore team has done it again, producing a "high-flying" musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, perhaps "the most fantasmagorical stage musical in the history of everything!"

According to Encore advisor Mrs. Letha Stone, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a stage musical based on the 1968 film produced by Albert R. Broccoli and was inspired by the novel, Chitty Chitty Bang‐Bang:The Magical Car by Ian Fleming. Fleming based his story upon the real car, which was built in 1921 by Countouis Zborowski. Zborowski was an amateur race car driver, an eccentric gentleman, and was very wealthy. He, along with Captain Clive Gallop, built four aero‐engine cars and called them Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The musical production premiered at the London Palladium on April 16, 2002, and closed in September 2005. In its time, it became the longest‐running show ever at the London Palladium. The Broadway production opened on April 28, 2005, and since then, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has toured the world.

Encore will present three performances of Chitty Chitty Bang this weekend with 7:00 PM shows on Friday and Saturday, and a 2:00 PM Sunday matinee. We look forward to this year's performances! To Mrs. Stone and the cast and crew of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, break a leg!
