The Pennsylvania Department of Education has notified the District that its Special Education Plan for the July 1, 2018-June 30, 2021 cycle has been approved.  Every three years, Pennsylvania school districts study and update their plans as needed, in compliance with Chapter 14.104 regulations. The Special Education Plan is a component of each school district's Comprehensive Plan (formerly called the Strategic Plan) and must undergo a 28-day public review
and be school board-approved, before it is submitted to PDE. Congratulations and many thanks are extended to Jennifer Snyder, Director of Special Education and the Planning Committee, for their efforts in crafting a solid plan that will guide Southern Columbia's Special Education services through 2021! The plan can be reviewed by clicking on the following link: 2019-2022 Special Education Plan.  A link is also found on this website's Comprehensive Plan page.
